How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Drainage Services Manager

    Location: Hillington & Livingston

    Employment type: Full Time, Permanent

    Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week – Any time between 6am and 6pm

    About the role…

    The Drainage Services Manager’s purpose is to lead & manage the drainage operations team, developing an operations programme of work in line with the Company’s Vision, Mission and Values. They will be responsible for ensuring Company policies are implemented, monitored, and audited, ensuring resources and equipment are adequate for the workload.  They must ensure that work standards meet the client expectations and always maintain client and colleague communications. 

    Play a crucial part in growing the division, helping to shape strategies, expand our client base and contribute to the long-term success of the business.

    As a Drainage Services Manager you will…

    Team leadership and development

    Lead by example, as an ambassador of the business always behave professionally.

    Encourage team involvement in, and ownership of, the Company business aims.

    Ensure clear roles and responsibilities are understood throughout the team and hold people properly accountable for their work.

    Conduct employee career & performance conversations in line with company standards and ensure development and training were identified and relevant.

    Manage behaviour and incidents in accordance with company disciplinary & grievance procedures utilising HR for support where required.

    Manage attendance in accordance with company policy utilising HR for support where required.

    Resource & Operations Management

    Provide timely customer quotes ensuring best prices to obtain work whilst maximising value and profit.

    Ensure resources are adequate for the workload and that projects are delivered in an economic and timely manner.

    Efficiently plan and programme operations utilising business systems and ensuring regular updates recorded in accordance with job progress.

    Plan and pro-actively manage equipment and materials, timely off-hiring of plant, minimising downtime wherever practicable.

    Manage risk throughout the life cycle of projects, workstreams.

    Ensure the information required to invoice the client is captured correctly.

    Business improvement

    Actively engage in ‘business improvement’ and ‘change’ programmes

    Develop, maintain, and measure performance against agreed KPI’s and SLA’s.

    Customer satisfaction

    Carry out customer satisfaction measurement by appropriate methods, ensuring that any improvements or actions are communicated to them.

    Always establish good relationships and communication and resolve issues and early resolution of any potential problems.

    Health, safety and environmental

    Conduct and document a minimum of 1 toolbox talk and 2 site audit/visits per month.  

    Ensure Company policies and improvement action plans are effectively implemented, monitored, and audited.

    Support the Business Unit in maintenance of ISO Standard HSQE accreditation

    Produce all relevant health & safety paperwork required for tasks that the staff under your management carry out, ensuring that current safe systems of work and RAMS are followed.

    Ensure staff in your management are competent and qualified to undertake tasks assigned and provided with appropriate PPE.

    Manage & arrange safety critical training of team members in a timely manner.

    About you…

    Candidates should have a driving licence, ideally hold a management or industry-related qualification, and bring senior-level experience within a commercial, multi-divisional environment, including strong knowledge of legislation, health and safety, risk management, and contracts. They should also be IT proficient, skilled in planning and team development, and able to lead by example while building effective relationships with clients and suppliers.
