How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

    As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who face challenges in school due to emotional or behavioural needs. Your role will be vital in helping them feel supported, understood, and ready to engage with learning.

    You will be someone who can model positive behaviour, remain calm under pressure, and build strong, trusting relationships with young people.

    Pupils you support may experience:

    Anxiety or difficulty managing emotions
    Behavioural challenges or attachment needs
    Low confidence and self-esteem
    Difficulty forming positive relationships
    The impact of trauma or challenging life experiences

    Key Responsibilities

    Support pupils in lessons to help them access learning
    Act as a positive role model, demonstrating calm and respectful behaviour
    Help pupils develop emotional awareness and coping strategies
    Encourage positive interactions with peers and staff
    Provide 1:1 and small group support
    Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
    Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment

    About You

    Calm, patient, and positive in your approach
    Passionate about supporting young people's development
    Able to build strong, trusting relationships
    Resilient and composed in challenging situations
    A strong team player with good communication skills

    Previous experience with SEMH or SEND is beneficial but not essential. The school is keen to support individuals who are motivated to learn and grow within education.
