Rolling Stock Supervisor – Bedford
Salary: £56,385.63
Shifts: 4 on 4 off, 5 on 5 off shifts, days and nights - 7-7
Pension: Up to 10%
Bonus: 3% possibly more on company performance
Role Summary:
The Technician Supervisor leads a team of maintenance technicians responsible for the inspection, servicing, and repair of rolling stock. The role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with operational and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day maintenance activities on rolling stock
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and support technician development
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards
- Diagnose faults and support complex technical troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Coordinate with operations to minimise downtime and service disruption
Requirements:
- Proven experience in rolling stock maintenance (rail, tram, or metro)
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is beneficial but not essential
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Understanding of safety regulations and maintenance procedures
- Good communication and organisational skills
