How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Associate, Construction Disputes (1-3PQE)

    London

A top-tier international law firm is looking to recruit a high-calibre 1–3 PQE lawyer to join its market-leading contentious construction team in London.

This is a standout opportunity to join a dynamic and globally integrated practice at the forefront of complex construction, engineering and insurance disputes. The team advises an impressive roster of clients across the sector, including developers, contractors, insurers and reinsurers, on high-value, business-critical matters across the full contractual chain. With a substantial international network of dispute resolution lawyers and arbitrators across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, the team offers unparalleled exposure to cross-border work and multi-jurisdictional proceedings.

Renowned for its deep sector expertise, the practice delivers strategic, commercially focused advice across litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation, as well as the enforcement of judgments and awards. Lawyers benefit from working alongside dual-qualified engineers, construction specialists, and leading adjudicators, mediators and arbitrators, ensuring a genuinely multidisciplinary approach.

The team is highly active in the Technology and Construction Court and is consistently instructed on significant domestic and international arbitrations. Its work spans the full range of construction disputes, including defects, delay and disruption, payment issues, terminations, force majeure and liquidated damages—frequently with a complex insurance dimension.

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Be a qualified solicitor with 1–3 years’ PQE in contentious construction
    • Have solid experience in arbitration, adjudication, and/or litigation
    • Demonstrate strong drafting, analytical, and case management skills
    • Thrive in a collaborative, international environment and be keen to develop a long-term career in contentious construction

This role offers an ambitious junior lawyer the chance to accelerate their career within a high-performing, supportive team, gaining hands-on experience on headline matters, early responsibility, and direct client exposure, all within a genuinely international platform.

If you think this sounds like a role that you’re suited to, please do apply directly, or reach out to ben@cursitor.co.uk.
