Overview
An opportunity for Quantity Surveyors to join a construction consultancy supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across the UK. The role sits within an established infrastructure team, working across a range of client programmes and commissions.
This position offers exposure to complex projects and the chance to contribute to cost and commercial management across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, and project stakeholders
- Administer contracts in line with agreed project objectives and governance
- Deliver accurate cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting through to project completion
- Monitor cost variance and manage contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications
- Work collaboratively with client and contractor teams to support delivery against programme, cost, and performance objectives
- Manage change control processes, ensuring compliance with governance and best practice
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost forecasting and budgeting accuracy
- Provide commercial insight and support to project stakeholders
- Support the agreement of final accounts
- Take responsibility for elements of project delivery and, where appropriate, lead packages or commissions
Experience and Skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across project teams
- Experience in contract administration (NEC3 Option C preferred)
- Cost management and reporting experience
- Understanding of change management and control processes
- Experience in valuation and financial reporting
- Knowledge of risk management principles
- Familiarity with procurement and estimating processes
- Ability to contribute to pricing and commercial decision-making
- Collaborative approach, with a focus on achieving best-for-project outcomes
- Ability to identify efficiencies and drive improvements across the project lifecycle
- Sound understanding of construction industry practices, including procurement routes and value management
Qualifications
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Working towards, or holding, membership of a recognised professional body
