We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to join a dynamic in-house legal team on an initial 6-month contract basis. This role will support a fast-paced commercial function, partnering closely with sales and business stakeholders to provide pragmatic legal advice across a broad range of commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, partnership, and services contracts
- Partner closely with sales teams to support deal structuring and contract negotiations
- Provide strategic, risk-based legal advice to commercial stakeholders in relation to business opportunities and contractual arrangements
- Advise on legal and regulatory issues impacting commercial transactions
- Support internal stakeholders with contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and ongoing commercial advisory work
- Assist with development and improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, finance, compliance, and operational teams as required
Candidate Profile
- Qualified solicitor/lawyer in England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction
- Significant post-qualification experience in commercial law, ideally gained in-house and/or at a leading law firm
- Strong experience supporting sales/commercial teams in a business-facing legal role
- Proven ability to negotiate complex commercial contracts independently
- Pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach with strong commercial acumen
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Prior in-house experience within technology, telecommunications, SaaS, professional services, or other fast-moving commercial environments
- Experience working in multinational or matrixed organisations
