How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A leading law firm is looking for an experienced Legal & Business Research Adviser to join its Global Research and Resources Hub. This is a high‑impact role for someone who enjoys being a trusted adviser, shaping research capability, and helping lawyers navigate an increasingly digital and AI‑enabled research landscape.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Deliver high‑quality legal research across case law, legislation, regulation and authoritative commentary
    • Provide business, sector and market research, including company profiling, competitive analysis and client intelligence
    • Turn complex information into clear, decision‑ready insights for lawyers and business services teams
    • Develop and maintain current awareness products, alerts and monitoring for legal and sector developments
    • Contribute research and insight to pitches, credentials and business development activity
    • Design and deliver engaging research training – from inductions to practice‑embedded sessions
    • Create digital‑first learning resources such as research guides, toolkits and short videos
    • Support the evaluation and responsible use of AI‑enabled research tools, including guidance and training
    • Help manage research systems, subscriptions and digital knowledge platforms
    • Act as a visible, approachable point of contact across the firm, contributing to service innovation and improvement

    What you’ll bring

    • Proven experience delivering legal and business research in a law firm or professional services environment
    • Strong knowledge of legal information sources, research methodologies and current awareness tools
    • The ability to analyse, synthesise and present complex information clearly and practically
    • Experience designing and delivering user‑focused training, ideally with a digital learning mindset
    • High levels of digital literacy and confidence working with research platforms and intranets
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
    • An interest in innovation, AI and the future of legal research
    • (Desirable) Experience with AI‑assisted research tools, library systems or serials management

    Why this role?

    • A chance to work at the heart of a global research function supporting lawyers across multiple jurisdictions
    • Real influence over how research, knowledge and AI tools are used in practice
    • A collaborative, forward‑thinking environment that values expert judgement and continuous improvement
    • Hybrid working and a role with genuine strategic visibility and impact
