How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Learning Designer

    South West, England, 2 days a week on site

    Permanent, full-time

    £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

    We’re working with a global engineering and technology organisation to support in the hiring of a Learning Designer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist learning team designing and delivering high-impact training solutions for a technical audience within advanced manufacturing environments.


    You’ll be responsible for designing and developing a range of learning solutions, primarily focused on complex engineering products. Working closely with subject matter experts and technical teams, you’ll translate detailed information into engaging, accessible learning experiences.


    Key responsibilities include:

    • Designing and developing eLearning and blended learning solutions
    • Working with subject matter experts to gather and structure technical content
    • Converting complex documentation into learner-friendly materials
    • Creating instructional videos and training assets
    • Developing Train-the-Trainer materials
    • Designing assessments to validate learner competence
    • Analysing learning needs and defining clear learning objectives
    • Managing multiple projects to agreed timelines and quality standards


    We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with technical subject matter and can simplify complexity into clear, engaging learning content. Experience required:

    • Experience in instructional design, ideally within a technical or engineering environment
    • Ability to interpret and structure complex information effectively
    • Experience with eLearning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate, Captivate)
    • Strong PowerPoint skills for classroom-based training content
    • Understanding of engineering or product maintenance concepts is desirable
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
