How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Training and Competency Manager

    COMAH-regulated sites

    London based (hybrid working)

    £50,000 - £60,000 (plus bonus and benefits)


    A Training and Competency Manager is wanted on a permanent basis by a forward thinking, global client of ours, who is at the forefront of their industry and going through a real period of growth. In this role, the successful candidate will have full ownership and look to continuously improve the company's Competence Management System and Training & Development Strategy for the company’s COMAH-regulated sites and support Functions across the business.


    This is a permanent opportunity that includes a base salary of between £50,000 - £60,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications plus car/car allowance, bonus and benefits.


    Overview of the Training and Competency Manager role:


    • Plan and co-ordinate the CMS Internal Audits/Assurance activities as well as prepare for, and support regulatory inspections and external audits, maintaining an auditable trail of competence decisions and evidence.
    • Co-ordinate critical task analysis/role-task mapping to identify competence requirements and develop role competence profiles and assessment standards within functional managers.
    • Standardise role profiles, competence matrices, assessment standards and evidence requirements across the business as well as taking full ownership of the LMS/Competence Management Systems.


    Key skills required for the Training and Competency Manager role:


    • Have a proven track record of working in a COMAH-regulated industry in a L&D or Training and Competency capacity.
    • Be able to work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective governance, reporting and interventions whilst also being able to look at suitable training providers for specialist expertise, when required.
    • Showcase a proven competency in translating regulatory and internal standards into competence requirements, assessment methods and training pathways for various positions across the business.
