How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Allen Lane are partnering with a Not-for-Profit organisation in their recruitment for a part-time in-house Legal Counsel who can support stakeholders across the organisation to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory guidance, and internal legal policies. This role sits at the heart of the organisation, advising on contractual terms with suppliers, funders, members, grant recipients and partner museums and galleries.

With a membership of 148,000, ensuring the highest standard of compliance with data protection is critical to the organisation. The successful candidate will be confident advising on data protection law and providing training to colleagues.

The role requires a recognised UK legal qualification with ongoing registration as a solicitor with the SRA or equivalent, alongside solid post-qualification experience and the ability to work independently across a broad and varied remit.

This role is paying up to £73,000 per annum pro rata as this is 3 days a week of work with one day onsite in their London office.

Pro rate salary is up to £43,800 per annum.

    Key Employee Benefits

    • Free Entry to Exhibitions
    • Life Assurance – cover for up to three times your basic salary.
    • Season Ticket Loan
    • Pensions – Eligible employees are enrolled into the scheme with the exception of those who have contracts of three months or less. Art Fund contributes 8% of the basic annual salary during the first six months of employment or until probation is successfully completed, whichever is the later. At that point the contribution is increased to 10%.
