How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, a high‑growth, consumer‑facing technology business is hiring a Head of Legal to build and lead its growth‑critical legal function.


    This is a hands‑on, operator role at the intersection of US privacy, consumer health data, product, marketing, and growth. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and the executive team to help the business scale quickly without being reckless.


    This is not a pure compliance role, corporate secretarial role, or litigation‑management seat. It’s for a senior lawyer who thrives in ambiguity, commercial decision‑making, and fast‑moving environments.


    The headquarters is located outside of the UK but a remote arrangement can be considered for the right individual.


    What You’ll Own


    Privacy, Health Data & Data Governance

    • Advise on US privacy, consumer and digital health data, and app/data governance
    • Partner with Product, Growth and Engineering on data flows, consent, tracking, retention and sharing
    • Support EU‑readiness and international expansion


    Marketing, Claims & Growth Legal

    • Advise on advertising claims, disclosures, testimonials, endorsements, influencers and comparative marketing
    • Build pragmatic legal guardrails and pre‑approved playbooks to enable speed
    • Support FTC / NAD exposure management and substantiation standards


    Product & Consumer‑Risk Legal

    • Advise on product features, UX flows, warnings, disclaimers and user communications
    • Help define safe boundaries between product functionality and regulated claims
    • Reduce product and consumer‑claim risk through proactive design


    Disputes, Competitor & Litigation Support

    • Triage consumer claims, arbitrations, demand letters and threatened disputes
    • Manage outside counsel where appropriate
    • Handle competitor notices and selective offensive responses


    Corporate, Financing & Cross‑Border Support

    • Support fundraising, diligence, intercompany and cross‑border matters
    • Partner with founders and Finance on growth and international structuring


    Legal Operations

    • Build templates, review rules, escalation paths and fallback positions
    • Make legal review faster, clearer and less founder‑dependent


    About You

    • 8–15+ years’ legal experience, ideally with significant in‑house ownership
    • With their primary market being the US, deep experience of this jurisdiction is crucial when it comes to privacy, consumer health data, digital products and B2C marketing
    • Comfortable with FTC‑style claims risk and fast‑moving launch environments
    • Experience supporting B2C or D2C businesses
    • Able to cover corporate and financing matters with support from external counsel
    • Commercial, pragmatic and comfortable being hands‑on
    • Startup or high‑growth mindset


    Strong pluses

    • Consumer health, digital health, medtech or wellness experience
    • Exposure to products combining app, device, data and D2C marketing
    • EU privacy or international expansion experience
