How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Secondary Science Teacher - International Relocation required



    Location: Lisbon, Portugal

    Region: Europe

    Start Date: August 2026

    Curriculum: British KS3 - KS5

    Length of Contract: 2 years (renewable)

    Successful applicants will have:

    • UK training with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. BEd, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent), with a relevant Bachelor’s degree
    • Exceptional subject knowledge
    • Experience teaching Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) at Key Stage 3
    • Experience teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 4 (I/GCSE)
    • Ability to teach Biology at Key Stage 4 (I/GCSE)
    • Ability to teach Physics at Key Stage 4 (I/GCSE)
    • A proven record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning
    • A high level of spoken and written English
    • A strong commitment to maintaining high standards
    • A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • Cultural awareness and strong interpersonal skills
    • Willingness to contribute positively to all aspects of school life, including extra-curricular activities


    It is desirable that candidates have:

    • At least three years’ teaching experience in the UK
    • Experience teaching Biology at Key Stage 4 (I/GCSE)
    • Experience teaching Physics at Key Stage 4 (I/GCSE)
    • Ability to teach Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics at Key Stage 5 (AS/A Level)
    • Experience in an international school setting
    • First aid training
    • Child protection training
