How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Senior Employment Lawyer (EMEA)

    Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

    Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract


    Overview

    Our customer, a top tech company is looking for an experienced Employment Lawyer to join a high-performing EMEA legal team on a 6-month contract. This role will provide comprehensive employment law support across multiple European jurisdictions, with a particular focus on France, Italy, and Spain. The position sits within a central EMEA employment law hub and requires a commercially minded lawyer capable of operating in a fast-paced, international environment.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver end-to-end employment law support across a range of European markets
    • Advise on day-to-day HR and employment matters, including performance management, terminations, restructuring, and employee relations
    • Manage and support employment litigation, working closely with external counsel where required (approx. 30% of role)
    • Provide strategic input on labour relations matters, including engagement with works councils and unions (approx. 20–30% of role)
    • Draft, review, and implement employment policies, procedures, and best practices across jurisdictions
    • Lead and contribute to cross-border employment law projects and initiatives
    • Partner closely with internal stakeholders, including HR and senior business leaders, to deliver pragmatic and commercially focused advice


    Key Requirements

    • Qualified lawyer with 7+ years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) in employment law
    • Strong experience advising across European jurisdictions, particularly France, Italy, and Spain
    • Proven track record in handling employment litigation and managing external counsel
    • Solid understanding of labour relations frameworks across key European markets
    • Ability to balance advisory, litigation, and project-based work in a dynamic environment
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
    • Based in or able to work from London, with availability to attend the office three days per week
