How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    My client is a leading UK Legal Aid law firm highly renowned for their expertise in criminal and family law, they are now looking for a confident and personable HR Assistant on a permanent basis, to join their busy London office.


    Reporting to the Head of HR and working with the wider HR team. The HR Assistant will provide administrative support and co-ordinate a number of specific HR processes on a day-to-day basis to assist with the general smooth running of the department. This is a generalist role where the role holder will be involved in all aspects of HR from recruitment, benefits, appraisals, inductions etc.

    The key duties will include:


    • Preparing and delivering new staff inductions (for both support staff and fee earners)
    • Providing support for staff appraisals and mid-terms – preparing paperwork and conducting meetings with line managers
    • Responsible for the HR systems and spreadsheets – adding new joiners, removing leavers, monitoring holidays/flex/flexible working arrangements/absences, amending and updating records
    • Undertaking various administrative tasks including ordering eye test vouchers, processing sickness forms and medical notes, updating staff records and lists and various spreadsheets.
    • Recruitment: preparing job descriptions, advertising vacancies and liaising with recruitment agencies and direct applicants & preparing offer paperwork.
    • Assisting with staff benefits e.g. Cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan forms, travel insurance, eye tests.


    The HR Assistant will have a minimum of 1 year’s HR experience ideally in a professional services firm. It is essential to possess excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills. The right candidate will possess strong communication and prioritising skills. Any recruitment experience will be beneficial. The HR Assistant will maintain high levels of confidentiality, work autonomously and be an energetic & enthusiastic individual.
