How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An Oil Tanker Operator and STS business based in London is currently looking for candidates with previous offshore experience on oil or chemical tankers and preferably STS operations to come onshore and work full-time from their London office as an Operations Coordinator.

Ship‑to‑Ship (STS) Operations plays a central role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of all STS cargo transfer activities. Acting as the primary communication hub between vessels, service providers, clients, and regulatory stakeholders, the coordinator is responsible for maintaining operational readiness and delivering high‑quality service throughout every stage of the operation.

In this position, the coordinator manages the full lifecycle of STS activities, beginning with detailed pre‑operation planning. This includes preparing operational documentation, confirming equipment requirements, and coordinating schedules with vessel masters, mooring masters, agents, and other involved parties. During live operations, the coordinator monitors progress in real time, identifies any deviations from plan, and escalates issues promptly to ensure safe and uninterrupted execution.

A key aspect of the role is ensuring strict adherence to international and local regulations, including OCIMF guidelines and industry best practices. The coordinator supports safety oversight by contributing to incident reporting, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. They also manage all operational documentation, from checklists to post‑operation reports and performance summaries.

The role requires strong logistical coordination, including equipment mobilisation viz. Fenders, hoses and personnel transfers. Clear and timely communication with clients, authorities, and internal teams is essential, as is the ability to compile operational KPIs, track costs, and support emergency response readiness when required.

Success in this role depends on a solid understanding of maritime operations, particularly tanker handling and marine safety. Prior exposure to STS operations or tanker logistics is highly advantageous.

The position demands strong communication skills, meticulous attention to documentation accuracy, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to operational challenges.

Proficiency with scheduling tools, reporting systems, and standard office software is also important, along with a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
