How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Legal Secretary – Real Estate & Projects | London | Hybrid

We are working with a leading UK law firm with a strong reputation in real estate and development work, now looking to add a highly organised Legal Secretary to their London team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, high-performing Real Estate & Projects function, supporting complex transactions and working closely with experienced fee earners in a collaborative environment.

    The Role

You’ll play a key role in supporting a fast-paced Development team, ensuring transactions progress smoothly and clients receive a consistently high standard of service.

This is a hands-on position where you’ll be trusted to take ownership, manage priorities, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Providing proactive secretarial support within a shared “pool” structure
    • Preparing and processing payment requests in line with internal procedures
    • Opening new client matters, including conflict checks and CDD
    • Managing billing processes – drafting, editing, and issuing invoices
    • Formatting and proofreading legal documents to a high standard
    • Supporting transactions, including pre- and post-completion tasks
    • Handling Land Registry submissions, SDLT, and related documentation
    • Coordinating diaries, meetings, and key deadlines
    • Liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, and third parties

    What We’re Looking For

    • Minimum 1 year’s experience in a legal secretarial/administrative role (ideally within real estate or conveyancing)
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
    • Confident working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
    • Advanced MS Word skills (formatting, track changes, document management)
    • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder confidence
    • Proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

    The Details

    • Location: London (Hybrid working)
    • Salary: £32,000
    • Process: Two-stage interview (including at least one in-person)

If you’re looking to join a well-established firm where you can build your experience within a strong real estate team, this is a great opportunity to step into a role with real exposure and progression.
