How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Corporate Compliance Counsel | Global Antitrust & Regulatory Work at Unmatched Scale – Relocation to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia

If you’re a competition or regulatory lawyer considering a move in-house, this is an opportunity to step into a role where your advice directly influences major international transactions and strategic decisions. You’ll be working at the centre of a global organisation, advising on complex EU and UK regulatory matters across a diverse and expanding international portfolio.

This is also a fully supported international move, offering the chance to relocate with long-term accommodation and a comprehensive benefits package covered, allowing you to focus on the work and the opportunity rather than the logistics.

    The Firm

This opportunity sits within the in-house legal function of a globally significant energy company, headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The organisation operates across the full energy value chain, from upstream exploration and production through to downstream refining, chemicals, and retail. It is consistently ranked among the largest companies globally by market capitalisation and continues to invest heavily across international markets.

With a rapidly expanding global footprint spanning subsidiaries, joint ventures, and affiliates, the business is undertaking one of the largest capital investment programmes in its sector.

Alongside this, it is investing significantly in AI, sustainability, and carbon capture technologies, increasing both the scale and complexity of its regulatory exposure.

The compliance legal team sits at the centre of this growth, advising across competition, trade, and regulatory matters on a truly global basis. The team is lean, high-calibre, and works closely with senior management and business leaders across the organisation.

    The Role

You will take a leading role advising on EU and UK competition and antitrust matters, particularly in the context of investments, divestments, and M&A activity.

Your work will involve supporting complex transactions, conducting regulatory due diligence, and advising on competition risk across international deals. You will also engage directly with regulators, providing strategic input on compliance frameworks and governance across a broad range of jurisdictions.

Alongside transactional work, you will support compliance with ESG, sustainability, and climate-related regulations, as well as broader governance and human rights considerations where relevant.

This is a highly visible role, working closely with senior stakeholders across business lines, subsidiaries, and joint ventures. You will be expected to provide clear, commercially focused advice and play a key role in shaping how the organisation approaches regulatory risk globally.

    The Candidate

    • Qualified lawyer with approximately 7-10 years’ PQE (UK, US, Australian, or New Zealand qualification preferred)
    • Strong background in EU/UK competition or antitrust law
    • Experience advising on M&A, investments, or complex regulatory matters
    • Trained at a leading law firm or with relevant in-house experience in a multinational environment
    • Commercially minded, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical advice
    • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly in regulatory due diligence
    • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to operate across multiple jurisdictions

    What’s On Offer

    • Full relocation package, including long-term accommodation provided at no cost
    • Highly competitive salary with additional monthly and annual retention bonuses
    • Private healthcare, travel allowances, and education support
    • Access to discounted airfares, groceries, and entertainment
    • Opportunity to work at the centre of a globally significant organisation on high-impact, international transactions
    • Exposure to complex competition and regulatory work across multiple jurisdictions
    • A lean, high-performing legal team with direct access to senior leadership

This is a rare opportunity to take on a globally significant role while relocating with full support, both professionally and personally.

If this is of interest, then please apply now or reach out to Freddie Bolwell for a confidential discussion.
