We are partnering with a B2C FinTech lender who specialise in affordable credit are looking for a credit underwriter to join their team.
You will be responsible for assessing credit applications and making lending decisions in line with company policy and risk appetite. You will manage the semi automated lending process and ensure that customers receive the highest level of customer service and all regulatory guidelines are met.
Responsibilities
- Assess credit applications - you’ll use your experience, a variety of data sources and our technology to make fast, fair and accurate decisions
- Balancing risk and commercial to ensure the right outcomes for the business and customer
- Credit decisions - making the best lending decisions and escalating complex cases where required
- Regulatory compliance - ensure all lending is within regulatory parameters
- Process improvement - improvement of internal processes where appropriate to ensure efficiency
- Liaising directly with customers if required
- Collaboration with other internal departments
Required skills
Previous experience working in a credit underwriting role and making credit decisions
Experience working for a UK lender
Analytical mindset - ability to look at financial information to asses multiple loan applications per day
Preferred
Experience of unsecured B2C lending
Near prime lending
Working in a fintech/start up environment
You must have full right to work in the UK
This role is hybrid working and would require 2 days pw in their offices in Central London
