How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

The Change Partners are partnering with a globally recognised leader in the fine and rare spirits auction space.

This is a prestigious platform that connects collectors, enthusiasts and sellers with exceptional bottles and memorabilia. As part of a larger, highly respected drinks group, the business has ambitious growth plans and is looking to significantly scale its auction operation over the coming years.

Head of Commercial Business - Spirits Auctions will define and deliver the strategy to accelerate revenue, market presence and client experience on a global scale.

This is a high-impact leadership role that combines strategic vision, commercial ownership and deep category expertise. You will lead the specialist auction team across consignment acquisition, authentication, valuation, auction planning and delivery, while building a high-performing, ambitious and customer-focused operation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Own and deliver the auction house growth strategy, with a clear roadmap to scale revenue, consignments and bidder participation
    • Build and execute commercial plans to grow profitability and market share
    • Identify and unlock new opportunities across categories, audiences, geographies and partnerships
    • Take full ownership of auction performance — revenue, profit, sell-through and client satisfaction
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with collectors, sellers and key industry stakeholders
    • Act as the public face and ambassador for the auction house, strengthening its global reputation
    • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across the end-to-end auction process
    • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team in a collaborative, inclusive culture

    Your background:

    • Significant experience in auctions, fine spirits, fine wine, luxury goods or collectibles
    • A proven track record of leading a commercial function or business area with full revenue responsibility
    • Strong hands-on experience in sourcing, valuation, authentication, auction planning and client relationship management
    • The ability to operate at both strategic and executional level.
    • Credible leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and build strong stakeholder relationships

    Please apply for further information.
