How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    All about the role

As a Software Engineer within our Grocery & Retail Domain, your work will be the face of one of the world’s leading food delivery companies, primarily for our customer-facing apps. Your main focus will be speeding up the delivery of high-priority product features for our customers. In this role, you will be tasked with developing and refining scalable, high-quality software solutions that serve a diverse global market. You will be collaborating with multiple product and engineering teams around the world to help unlock new opportunities for our partners and enhance our customers’ experience.

This will include creating and improving various systems for company projects, utilizing technologies such as C#, .NET, GitHub CI, AWS cloud infrastructure and React

These are some of the key components to the position:

Collaborate extensively with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine ideas and deliver innovative solutions across various team boundaries

Actively contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for new initiatives

Participate in the technical exploration and prototyping of new features and technologies, transforming ambiguous concepts into tangible software

Adhere to JET-wide architecture best practice and contribute to improvements in team standards

Build and maintain a strong network outside of your immediate team and across the organisation

Pursue ongoing personal development by learning from teammates and applying this knowledge to benefit the team and enhance the applications

What will you bring to the team?

Proficiency in C# and .NET Core, and a strong understanding of software architecture patterns.

Experience on frontend development preferably with React.

Demonstrable experience in building, and operating scalable, distributed backend systems.

Ability to clearly communicate with other engineering teams, influence the decision making process and reach consensus on the path to achieve results.

Good technical writing skills to clearly portray the team's ideas and designs with colleagues.

A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a passion for learning new technologies and a drive to explore innovative solutions.

Familiarity with API Gateway management and OpenAPI specs.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS).
