How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Branch Manager - Retail Travel | Leicestershire | Full Time | Salary circa £30,000 + Commission

    Gecko Travel Recruitment are working with a modern independent retail travel agency who combine classic travel sales with dynamic packaging and tailor-made holiday design, they are looking for a Branch Manager to lead their store and drive both commercial performance and customer experience.

    The Role:

    As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for leading the store's sales performance, managing and developing the retail team, and ensuring the branch delivers excellent customer service and strong commercial results while also promoting a modern travel retail approach that combines package holidays with bespoke, dynamically packaged itineraries built using flights, hotels, and supplier partnerships. You will lead the team in delivering expert travel advice, improving conversion, and building long-term customer loyalty, while ensuring the branch operates efficiently and in line with company standards.

    You Will Have:

    • Significant experience in a retail travel agency environment (minimum 3 years)
    • Minimum 12 months management or senior leadership experience in retail travel
    • Strong track record of delivering sales and achieving targets
    • Experience managing or mentoring a sales team
    • Experience selling a range of travel products including cruise, luxury, and tailor-made holidays
    • Understanding or experience of dynamic packaging and multi-component holiday creation
    • Strong commercial awareness and focus on profitability
    • Excellent customer relationship management skills
    • Strong leadership and team motivation ability
    • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage operational responsibilities
    • Full UK driving licence

    Additional Info:

    • Salary circa £30,000 plus uncapped commission (OTE £38-42,000)
    • Full-time role - 5 days per week including Saturdays (store closed Sundays except peak periods)
    • 30 days annual leave including bank holidays
