How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    As Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of identifying, targeting and securing new Fire Safety opportunities across a broad client base including:

    * Housing Associations

    * Main Contractors

    * Facilities Management Providers

    * Local Authorities

    * Healthcare & Education Estates

    * Commercial Property & Managing Agents

    You will be responsible for developing relationships with key decision makers, generating tenders and negotiated opportunities, and driving sustainable revenue across the company’s full Fire Safety offering.

    Services include:

    * Fire Risk Assessments

    * Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Solutions

    * Fire Door Compliance

    * Passive Fire Protection

    * Extinguisher Servicing

    * Compliance Inspections & Remedial Works

    This is a consultative sales-led role where credibility, market understanding and relationship building are just as important as target achievement.

    What We Are Looking For

    We are keen to speak with ambitious, high-performing Business Development professionals who already understand the Fire Safety, Compliance, Building Services or wider Life Safety marketplace.

    You will ideally have:

    * A proven background in Business Development, Sales or Commercial Growth

    * Experience within Fire Safety, Fire Protection, Compliance Services or a closely related sector

    * A track record of winning new business and developing long-term client relationships

    * Strong commercial awareness and confidence in managing the full sales cycle

    * Existing industry contacts across housing, FM, construction or property

    * A driven, resilient and target-focused mindset
