Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist secondary setting supporting young people aged 11-18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is well-established within the local community and provides a supportive, nurturing environment for a relatively small cohort of pupils across Key Stages 3 to 5.

The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teacher of PSHE to lead and deliver a high-quality Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4.
This includes:
Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)
Health Education
Careers education
Preparation for adulthood
Wider Personal DevelopmentThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an engaging, sequenced curriculum that meets the needs of learners with SEMH. Lessons should be practical, relevant and focused on developing life skills such as emotional literacy, healthy relationships, personal safety, financial awareness and citizenship.
This role would suit:
A Secondary-trained PSHE specialist
A teacher with experience in Personal Development, RSE or Citizenship
A teacher with strong pastoral experience and a passion for holistic education
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a calm, relational and trauma-informed practitioner who:
Has experience working with SEMH pupils or similar needs
Is confident managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
Can use de-escalation strategies effectively
Has knowledge of approaches such as nurture principles, emotion coaching or Zones of Regulation (desirable)
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver a progressive PSHE curriculum tailored to learner needs
Ensure statutory coverage of RSE and Health Education
Embed safeguarding, online safety and risk awareness throughout teaching
Encourage pupil voice, reflection and personal development
Work collaboratively with pastoral teams and external professionals
Contribute to the wider Personal Development offer across the school

£165.00 - £225.00 per day
