How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role Purpose

    The team leader is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the management of the people, performance, and quality and continuous improvement of their team.

    This includes a scorecard of measures including health & safety, operational performance, quality, productivity and efficiency, team development and engagement.

    The Team Leader understands, is aligned with and actively works towards operational achievement of the strategic objectives of the business, as they relate to Production. This is reflected in the individual and team objectives, goals and measures of performance.

    Scope & Accountability

    The Production Team Leader is accountable for:

    End-to-end operational performance of their team

    Achieving Production, Quality, Productivity and People metrics

    Leadership and development of their Team

    Delivery of departmental contribution to business financial and operational objectives

    Contributes to the achievement of department financial performance, including cost control, budget adherence and contribution to profitable manufacture.

    Contribute to achievement of operational objectives aligned to company strategy

    Implement continuous improvement activity to drive productivity and reduce waste

    Safe, compliant and efficient execution of manufacturing activities

    Operational Leadership

    Accountable for team’s output and achievement of production and quality targets. Continually monitor, assess, understand progress throughout the shift and be on top of the detail.

    Plan, organise, prioritise effectively, and manage issues promptly.

    OEE short interval schedule review of and action to be taken where required to recover in the event of failure to meet target.

    Work collaboratively and co-operate with other Team Leaders, managers, teams, and departments to achieve business priorities, resolve issues, and achieve results in a cross-functional holistic way.

    Per Shift team performance achievement against plan, target recovery plan.

    Promote a two-way feedback loop where Team Leaders can escalate issues when required

    Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

    * Lead and engage the team in actions to identify, implement, and maintain targeted improvements in ways of working.

    * Understand and use appropriately a range of relevant tools and techniques to achieve continuous and ongoing incremental improvements in performance, productivity, output and reduce wastes, , including:

    * SMED and flow optimisation

    * Standard work and operational discipline

    * Waste reduction and process stability

    * Data-led performance improvement

    Leadership, engagement and Team development

    * Lead, engage, motivate, and develop the team to achieve a range of shared team goals and individual objectives, which contribute to the achievement of wider business objectives.

    * The size of team and area of responsibility may vary between areas and may fluctuate from time to time as some areas of headcount are volume dependent.

    * To provide the infrastructure required to achieve Team KPIs, targets and business goals Team Leaders have Craftsperson’s, Cell and Line Leaders directly reporting to them.

    * Team leaders are accountable to manage and motivate all members of their team, engaging them in the achievement of the team’s shared goals and objectives.

    * Ensure all team members receive regular team and 1:1 individual support to review performance, provide support and direction, and exchange feedback.

    * Understand and use SMART objectives, a coaching style and address under-performance, as well as recognising great performance.

    * Champion the company values and uphold them in their own actions and behaviours and with the team, as part of encouraging a positive, open, and professional working culture.

    * Lead weekly Toolbox meetings with the team, share relevant information from Roadblock meetings and other business communications, particularly where team members do not have access to company emails or other e-communication.

    * Involved in recruitment and selection, onboarding, probation and ongoing review processes, agreeing employee objectives, training plans, reviews and 1:1s and feedback.

    * Develop and implement training and skills plans for the team and individuals.

    * Arrange/ensure team members receive the required training and development. No task should be undertaken without the correct training and competency sign-off.

    * Contribute to resource planning in line with predicted production volumes.

    * Take accountability for own learning and professional development, participate in training, learning opportunities, updates to keep skills current.

    Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance Leadership

    * Ensure that team members work safely and demonstrate a consistent, high level of compliance with, and understanding of, the relevant H&S policies, procedures and practises for their role and area of work.

    * Responsible for training and awareness of operating procedures, risk assessment, safety audits, PPE adherence, incident, and accident reporting.

    * Ensure that team consistently produces work that meets the expected standards of quality as set out in the company’s Quality Management System and Quality Procedure Index. This includes, but is not limited to, team members being suitably trained and following defined quality standards and procedures, using the most up to date versions.

    * Have understanding, and maintaining standards of, set-up verification, dimensional check sheets, scrap and root cause analysis, drive and manage scrap reduction and actions to improve quality.

    * Ensure that the team complies with shift patterns, break and lunch times, timekeeping, time-off requests etc and all people-oriented admin is completed in a timely and accurate fashion

    * Take a lead in People-oriented processes – leading investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters, quality, and scrap issues. Seek support and guidance from HR as required.

    * KPM Uk Quality Management System (QMS) is a structured framework that guides leaders to consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements, focus on standardising processes, improving efficiency, and fostering continuous improvement.

    * The Quality Procedure Index is used to track and evaluate the effectiveness of the company’s quality management processes within our QMS framework. It is used to assess the overall quality of our products, service, and processes, and help identify areas for improvement.

    * The Team Leader is responsible and accountable for ensuring compliance with Company procedures as set out in both the Quality Management System and Quality Procedure Index
