How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title:Business Development Manager

    Location:  Manchester (Remote)

    Salary:  Up to £45,000 + Car / Car Allowance OTE £65,000

    The Client

    Our client are a specialist in delivering great projects in warehousing and industrial building. Their services include pallet racking and industrial shelving, mezzanine floors for office or storage, automated storage systems, partitioning, commercial interiors and solar PV systems. They are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team.

    The Role of Business Development Manager

    As a Business Development Manager, you'll be the front line of their client's customer interaction, ensuring their every need is catered for and every question answered. You will be joining the team at an exciting time, helping to continue the growth and establish yourself and our client as great people to do business with.

    Business Development Managers are responsible for developing a portfolio of customers, leveraging existing business and investigating opportunities to develop new services and products whilst at the same time nurturing and developing the key target markets for the portfolio account/s.

    Our client can help you succeed, here's what you'll need:

    Experience of working within a technical sales role would be beneficial but not essential
    Ability to spot opportunities and generate new business.
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
    Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to strict deadlines.
    Capability to take ownership and responsibility.
    Ability to adapt to individual and operational change in a diverse and fast-paced organisation.
    Evidence of strategic account planning and account development
    Financial and commercial acumen
    Driving licence
