How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Bike Mechanic / Cycle Technician | Bicycle Workshop Technician | Oxford | £13.00-£15.00 per hour + Bonus

    We are recruiting for a Bike Mechanic / Cycle Technician / Bicycle Workshop Technician in Oxford. This is a hands-on role working in a busy bicycle repair workshop, carrying out bike servicing, bicycle repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of bikes.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bike Mechanic, Cycle Technician, or Workshop Technician to join a growing business offering training, progression, and bonus earning potential.

    About the role

    As a Bike Mechanic / Cycle Technician, you will work in a fast paced bicycle workshop carrying out bike servicing, bicycle repairs, and maintenance. You will diagnose faults, complete high quality repairs, and ensure all bicycles are repaired to a safe and professional standard.

    You will also act as a key point of contact for customers, providing advice on bike repair, servicing, and maintenance.

    Key responsibilities

    Bike servicing, bicycle repairs, and general maintenance
    Diagnosing mechanical and basic electrical faults on bicycles
    Working as a Bike Mechanic in a busy workshop environment
    Delivering excellent customer service and technical advice
    Workshop organisation and stock control
    Recording all bicycle repairs and servicing accurately on systems
    Supporting sustainability through bicycle repair, reuse, and recycling

    What we're looking for

    Experience as a Bike Mechanic, Cycle Technician, Workshop Technician, or Bicycle Repair Technician
    Strong experience in bike repair, bicycle servicing, or mechanical maintenance
    Passion for cycling, bikes, or outdoor sports
    Good mechanical problem solving skills
    Strong customer service and communication skills
    Attention to detail and high quality standards in bicycle repair
    Comfortable using workshop systems and basic IT
    Interest in sustainability and bicycle reuse (desirable)
