Peabody is recruiting a Fire Risk Assessor to join our Fire Safety Team and play a vital role in keeping our residents, visitors and buildings safe. This is a key position supporting the delivery of a high‑quality fire risk assessment programme and wider fire safety compliance across our residential portfolio.
The Role
As a Fire Risk Assessor, you’ll take ownership of fire risk assessments across a nominated portfolio of properties, producing clear, timely and pragmatic FRA reports that support effective action planning and risk management. You’ll work independently for much of the time, while contributing as part of a collaborative and high‑performing fire safety team, helping to strengthen a positive fire safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out fire risk assessments across residential properties
* Review existing fire precautions and identify proportionate, risk‑based actions
* Produce high‑quality FRA reports and upload them accurately and on time using fire safety systems
* Prioritise workloads and liaise with operational teams to resolve fire safety issues efficiently
* Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Provide clear, proportionate fire safety advice to both technical and non‑technical audiences
* Contribute to quality assurance, sharing learning and best practice across the Fire Safety Team
About You
* An experienced and competent Fire Risk Assessor, confident working independently and managing competing priorities
* Proven experience conducting fire risk assessments in residential premises
* Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication
* NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification (or equivalent)
* Operating at a minimum of Tier 2 Fire Risk Assessor level, with appropriate training, experience and/or third‑party certification
* Membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE), or a clear commitment to working towards this
* A driving licence is useful but not essential, as public transport will generally be used
Development & Support
* Full support with training and professional development
* Support towards professional membership (ideally IFE)
* Opportunities for third‑party accreditation and inclusion on the National Fire Risk Assessors Register
