How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Role:     HGV Technician
    Location:     Rugby
    Pay:              £45,747 
    Hours:          M-F 8am-5pm (42.5 hrs)

    HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter opportunity

    My client, a well-established company is actively seeing to employ an additional 2 experienced and qualified HGV Technicians for their depot in Rugby. You will be working on an internal mixed fleet of commercial vehicles from Mercedes, Iveco and Ford. Excellent internal training with opportunities to increase salary by £2 per hour when modules passed and gained Master Technician status 

    HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter duties

    Carrying out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a variety of HGVs and specialist commercial vehicles
    Working with industry-leading brands such as Mercedes, Iveco, and Ford
    Ensuring all work is completed to high safety, compliance, and quality standards
    Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections and ensuring roadworthiness
    Working as part of a supportive and experienced team in a well-equipped workshop
    HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter Qualifications / experience required  

    NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
    Hands-on experience working with HGVs or LCVs in a workshop or fleet environment
    A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for vehicle maintenance
    IRTEC trained would be beneficial but not essential
    Full UK driving licence
