How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    FAIR Inspector / FAIR Engineer / Quality Inspector
    Initial 6-Month Contract (Likely Extended)
    Hourly Rate: £40 - £45 per hour (UMB)
    Location: Stevenage Area
    Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Half Day Friday)

    Our client is urgently seeking an experienced FAIR Inspector / FAIR Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract, which realistically is expected to extend beyond that. You will play a crucial role in managing a backlog and ensuring the timely delivery of projects in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment.

    With an 8-week backlog and a strong order book extending into 2030, we need someone who can hit the ground running, with no time for a steep learning curve. This role offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact.

    Experience & Qualifications:

    Minimum of 3 years FAIR experience, with solid exposure to visual FAIR inspections.
    Highly regulated background required (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical, or other sectors with strict quality and compliance standards).
    Must be able to demonstrate the ability to hit the ground running with minimal training or supervision.
    A proactive, flexible attitude to work, especially in managing urgent or high-priority tasks.

    Key Responsibilities:

    75% Desk-Based: Primarily responsible for compiling FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    25% Inspection: Carrying out visual inspections to verify compliance with industry standards.
    Assist with the existing backlog, helping manage an increased workload while contributing to the overall success of the team.
    Ensure that all FAIRs are compiled in line with aerospace industry regulations and standards.
    Work with a team to ensure a streamlined process for completing FAIRs and meet all internal and external deadlines.

    Rate & Duration:

    £40-45 per hour
    Initial 6-month contract with high potential for extensions, based on workload and performance
