How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 student with additional needs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a caring and supportive primary school in Watford, with an ASAP start.

    About Us:

We are a warm and inclusive primary school in Watford, committed to providing an enriching educational experience for all our students. The school values a nurturing approach, focusing on individual development and academic achievement. Our dedicated staff team works together to create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where every child is supported to reach their potential.

You will be joining a friendly team, working collaboratively to ensure that students with additional needs are fully included in school life. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will be pivotal in supporting the learning and personal development of a Year 1 child with special educational needs.

    The Role:

Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 student with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and progress in their learning.
Assist with the child’s social, emotional, and behavioural development, ensuring a supportive and safe environment.
Work alongside the class teacher to adapt resources and provide personalised support based on the child’s needs.
Promote the student’s independence, supporting them in developing confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.
Track and record the child’s progress, ensuring communication is maintained between the teaching team and other professionals involved.
Be part of a collaborative team that ensures the child receives the support they need to thrive in school.
    What We Offer:

A supportive and welcoming school environment, with a strong focus on continuous professional development.
A daily rate of £85.50 - £120, based on experience and qualifications.
Full-time, immediate start, allowing you to make an impact from day one.
A dedicated and approachable staff team, committed to providing the best educational experience for all students.
Ongoing training opportunities to enhance your experience in SEN support and personal growth.
A competitive salary and benefits package.
    What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 SEN support role.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
A proactive and nurturing approach, focused on supporting children’s personal and academic development.
A sound understanding of SEN and the strategies used to support children with learning challenges.
A team player who can work collaboratively to meet the child’s needs and contribute to the school’s ethos of inclusion.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a range of responsibilities effectively.
