How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Bring structure and accuracy to the projects that power the UK’s infrastructure. At Morson Praxis, we’re the technical consultancy that actually delivers what it designs — and behind every successful engineering project is robust, well-managed documentation that keeps everything running smoothly.

We’re looking for a Document Controller / Technical Administrator to join our growing team and support the delivery of high-quality engineering projects across major clients including National Grid, Electricity North West and other key infrastructure partners.

If you’re highly organised, detail-driven and interested in working within a technical environment, this is a great opportunity to build your career with full training and development support.

We’re looking for a Document Controller / Technical Administrator to support project delivery through effective document management and coordination.

Working closely with engineers and the Senior Document Controller, you’ll play a key role in ensuring documentation is accurate, compliant and delivered in line with project and client requirements.

    Who We Are

At Morson Praxis, we combine engineering expertise with digital innovation to deliver complex infrastructure projects across energy, defence, aerospace and the built environment.

As part of the wider Morson Group, we bring together specialist technical capability with the scale and reach of one of the UK’s leading technical organisations. Our teams support critical national infrastructure, where accuracy, compliance and quality are essential.

You’ll join a collaborative environment where attention to detail, continuous improvement and teamwork are highly valued.

    What You’ll Do

As a Document Controller / Technical Administrator, you will support the management and control of project documentation, including:

    * Supporting the preparation and delivery of Electrical Design Construction Packs

    * Uploading, downloading and managing drawings and documents across client systems and portals

    * Issuing drawings and documentation with correct status, revision control and compliance

    * Reserving and downloading master drawings via client EDMS systems

    * Producing and issuing document transmittals

    * Maintaining accurate Contract Drawing Lists and Site Drawing Indexes

    * Liaising with engineers, clients and external stakeholders to resolve document and revision queries

    * Checking documentation for compliance with company, project and client procedures

    * Viewing and managing drawings using AutoCAD and Adobe tools

    * Preparing, printing and issuing construction packs in line with client specifications

    * Supporting audit documentation for design and client reviews

    * Providing general administrative support including document formatting, scanning, filing and data management

    * Monitoring project folders and highlighting non-compliance with procedures

    * Supporting continuous improvement of document control processes

    What We’re Looking For

    * Previous experience in document control or administration (desirable but not essential)

    * Familiarity with document management systems such as ProjectWise, SharePoint, Teams, Viewpoint or similar (beneficial)

    * Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

    * Good written and verbal communication skills

    * Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

    * Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities

    * Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and suggest improvements

    * Interest in engineering, infrastructure or technical environments
