How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Operations Manager
    Up to £50,000 per annum
    Location: East Lothian
    We are an established and growing manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement. We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our production and site operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and excellence across all areas of the business.
    About the Role
    The Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of production and related operations, ensuring smooth workflow, effective team leadership, and consistent delivery of high-quality products. You will play a key role in driving efficiency, managing resources, and supporting the company’s ongoing growth.
    Key Responsibilities
    *
    Oversee and coordinate daily operational activities across production, logistics, and site functions
    *
    Lead and develop a dedicated team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
    *
    Monitor performance metrics and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
    *
    Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and quality standards
    *
    Manage budgets, stock control, and resource planning
    *
    Work collaboratively with senior management to deliver strategic objectives
    About You
    *
    Proven experience in an operations or production management role within a manufacturing or process-led environment
    *
    Strong leadership and people management skills
    *
    Excellent planning, organisational, and communication abilities
    *
    A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving
    *
    Working knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement methods
