How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Recruitment Director – Commercial & Professional Services (Executive Search)
    Kent (Hybrid / Flexible Working)
    £60,000 – £80,000 + Bonus + Equity Potential

    The Opportunity

A boutique executive search and recruitment business in Kent is seeking an experienced Recruitment Director to lead and grow its Commercial and Professional Services recruitment division.

This opportunity is ideal for a senior Commercial Recruitment Manager or experienced recruitment leader ready to step into a Recruitment Director role. The business already has an established recruitment team in place and is now looking for a hands-on leader to drive growth, improve performance, and scale the division.

The role offers genuine autonomy, strong earning potential, and the opportunity to shape a high-performing recruitment function within a respected executive search environment.

    About the Business

This is a specialist boutique executive search and recruitment firm focused on Commercial and Professional Services recruitment across the UK.

The business operates within retained and exclusive recruitment and search, working with a strong portfolio of established and growing clients. With a solid foundation already in place, the focus is now on expanding the commercial recruitment function and developing a high-performing team.

The culture is professional, performance-driven, and supportive, with a strong emphasis on quality recruitment delivery, training, and long-term client relationships.

    Key Responsibilities

The Recruitment Director will lead and grow the Commercial and Professional Services recruitment division, taking full ownership of recruitment P&L, revenue growth, and profitability. They will manage, develop, and mentor an existing team of recruitment consultants while also supporting the training and onboarding of new consultants and trainees.

The role involves driving retained and exclusive recruitment assignments across commercial markets and building strong client relationships within Professional Services and Commercial sectors. The Recruitment Director will also develop and execute the recruitment growth strategy for the division, support business development and key account management activity, and maintain a hands-on approach to recruitment delivery where required. A key part of the role will be building a high-performance recruitment culture focused on results, accountability, and progression.

    Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Commercial Recruitment or Professional Services Recruitment and will have operated at Senior Recruitment Manager, Team Leader, or senior billing level. A strong track record in business development and client management is essential, along with experience managing, mentoring, or developing recruitment consultants.

Candidates should demonstrate a strong commercial mindset with a clear understanding of recruitment KPIs and performance, as well as the ability to operate in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. Ambition to progress into a senior Recruitment Director role is essential.

    Desirable Experience

Experience within commercial recruitment, business services, or professional services sectors would be highly beneficial, along with exposure to retained or executive search recruitment models. Experience scaling recruitment teams or developing trainee consultants would also be advantageous, particularly within boutique or high-growth recruitment agencies.

    What’s on Offer

This Recruitment Director role offers a base salary of £60,000 – £80,000 plus uncapped bonus potential, along with equity or profit-share opportunities for the right candidate. The business already has an established recruitment team in place and provides full support for training, team development, and scaling the division.

The position offers a hybrid working model based in Kent with flexibility, as well as clear long-term career progression and a genuine leadership opportunity within a high-performance, professional recruitment environment.
