How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you passionate about removing barriers to learning? Our client is looking for an inspirational, non-teaching SEND Deputy Head of Year to provide high-impact pastoral support to students.

In this vital role, you will be the champion for our most vulnerable learners, including those with EHCPs and SEN-K needs. Working closely with the Head of Sixth Form and external agencies, you will ensure every student has the care, stability, and tailored learning access they need to thrive.

    The Impact You’ll Make:

    * Advocate for Progress: Monitor the social and academic growth of vulnerable students, ensuring their wellbeing is at the heart of their education.

    * Mentor & Guide: Support students through the critical transition to adulthood, assisting with personal statements and post-18 progression.

    * Collaborate: Act as the bridge between teachers, families, and outside agencies to deliver holistic support.

    * Lead the Environment: Supervise Sixth Form study sessions and contribute to the wider culture through assemblies, rewards, and attendance support.

    Your Benefits:

    * Wellbeing First: Wellbeing days, an Employee Assistance Programme, and free on-site gym access.

    * Professional Growth: Access to comprehensive CPD and a wide variety of training courses.

    * Daily Perks: Free hot drinks and on-site parking.

    What You Bring:

    * Experience: A background in educational nurturing environments with a deep understanding of safeguarding and multi-agency referrals.

    * Skills: Proven ability to mentor young people and assess/monitor student progress effectively.

    * Qualifications: A Degree or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent), with evidence of PACE or inclusion training.
