How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commissioning Engineer

    We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Engineering team in Royston. At the site we manufacture a range of electro-mechanical equipment for bioprocessing. In this role, you will be responsible for testing all electrical, electronic and mechanical parts of completed sub-assemblies or products. You will be working within a team of experienced technicians and engineers and collaborating with the rest of the engineering team.

    The team consists of five professionals, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.

    This position is available full-time, on site in Royston.

    Grow with us – Your Responsibilities

    * Working on testing and documenting products using defined processes

    * Liaising with build, test and manufacturing engineers, the purchasing team, and other internal functions

    * Negotiating, scheduling, and implementing the manufacturing priorities within the team

    * Ensuring that production documentation and instructions are correctly recorded and kept up to date

    * Responsible for planning the work priorities in their area of responsibility

    * Working as part of a team to ensure work is completed to required schedules

    * Helping the team achieve work output and quality targets

    * Participating in affecting continuous improvements in production

    What will convince us

    * ONC | HND | BTEC | City and Guilds in Mechanical | Electrical Engineering or equivalent

    * Technician | apprentice trained, or substantial relevant experience

    * Experience in working in a technical environment within a high-tech engineering | manufacturing company

    * Experience in a precision assembly environment

    * Extensive understanding of mechanical | electrical | electronic build and assembly

    * Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings

    * Understanding of Lean | Six Sigma methodologies preferable

    * PC / IT literate with the range of Microsoft Office products and relevant hardware configure and test programs

    * Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail

    * Ability to work within a team

    * Willingness to occasionally work away from home and travel overseas as and when necessary
