How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: M&E Pre-Construction Manager
    Location: London (Hybrid Working)
    Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 + Package (DOE)

    The Company
    A well-established and growing M&E contractor delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, residential, and data centre sectors. With a strong pipeline of secured work and projects typically ranging from £500k to £5m, they are looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with an experienced M&E Pre-Construction Manager.

    The Role
    As an M&E Pre-Construction Manager, you will play a key role in the early stages of project delivery, leading the bid and pre-construction process from initial enquiry through to handover to operations. You will work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure technically robust and commercially competitive submissions.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead the full pre-construction process across multiple M&E projects

    * Manage and coordinate tender submissions, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met

    * Review technical drawings, specifications, and employer’s requirements

    * Develop cost plans, value engineering solutions, and risk assessments

    * Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners

    * Support bid strategy, programme development, and procurement planning

    * Work closely with estimating and design teams to produce competitive and compliant bids

    * Attend client meetings and presentations as required

    Requirements

    * Proven experience in an M&E Pre-Construction / Bid Management role

    * Strong technical knowledge across mechanical and electrical systems

    * Experience delivering projects within commercial, residential, or data centre sectors

    * Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously

    * Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costing

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

    * Background in either mechanical or electrical discipline (preferred)
