How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Level 2 BSL Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
    Location: Stevenage
    Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent
    Start Date: September

    About the Role
    Class Education are working with a Stevenage Secondary School who are seeking a dedicated and skilled Learning Support Assistant with a minimum of Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification to join their supportive and inclusive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who are deaf or have hearing impairments, helping them to fully access their education and thrive within the school environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide 1:1 and small group support to students using British Sign Language (BSL)

    * Facilitate effective communication between students, staff, and peers

    * Support the delivery of lessons by interpreting and adapting content where necessary

    * Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)

    * Encourage students’ independence, confidence, and social inclusion

    * Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external specialists

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have

    * A recognised Level 2 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL)

    * Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting

    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    * A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

    * Ability to work effectively as part of a team
