Your new role Working on a major highways improvement scheme in the Norfolk region, the project team is seeking a Quality Engineer. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in embedding a culture of excellence across the project. You'll support the Quality Manager and work closely with construction teams and the supply chain to ensure compliance with quality requirements, maintain robust assurance records, and champion continuous improvement.
This is a hands‑on role where you'll be out on site, engaging with teams, solving problems, and ensuring that quality is at the heart of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure project compliance with established quality management systems.
Support the development and use of digital assurance tools for field data capture.
Review and manage Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring complete and audit‑ready records.
Conduct audits, surveillances, and supply chain assessments, including factory visits.
Assist with non-conformance (NCR) management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Track and report on quality metrics and assurance deliverables.
Deliver quality briefings, inductions, and workshops to project teams and suppliers.
Support handover readiness through structured documentation and digital traceability.
Promote a right‑first‑time culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in quality assurance/control within construction, ideally highways or other high‑assurance environments.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical, structured approach.
Experience using digital QA systems and field tools.
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
