This is a hands-on planning and technical support role where you will help the plant E&I Technicians deliver the weekly maintenance plan safely, efficiently and effectively. The role is expected to involve a mix of planning and tool time, supporting work pack preparation, spares coordination, plant preparation, fault diagnosis, SAP data quality and planned maintenance delivery.
You will work closely with the MEI Front Line Manager, E&I Technicians, central planning team and wider site teams to improve the quality of maintenance planning, support safe execution and help maximise plant reliability and uptime.
What you’ll be doing
You will:
* Support the MEI Front Line Manager in delivering the weekly I/E maintenance plan and achieving maintenance targets.
* Coach and support I/E Technicians on operational topics, diagnostics and procedures, escalating to the I/E Engineer when required.
* Produce work packs for planned work, breakdowns and opportune maintenance activity.
* Coordinate spares and support safe, effective execution of maintenance work.
* Act as a point of contact for the site PME team during planned maintenance activity.
* Prepare the plant for maintenance by reviewing upcoming planned I/E work and tagging job scopes in the field.
* Improve SAP data quality by ensuring work orders are closed correctly and work is properly documented.
* Identify and recommend improvements to enhance plant stability, uptime and quality.
* Complete planned and emergent work to site I/E standards, following safe systems of work, risk assessments and permit requirements.
* Carry out functional and evaluation tests on specialist instrument and electrical systems.
* Use systems such as MOD300 and DeltaV to support fault diagnosis.
* Test and commission new or modified electrical and instrumentation systems when required.
* Build relationships with central planning to improve work pack quality and streamline planning processes.
* Monitor third-party I/E work, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently and effectively.
* Act as permit task leader when required and help maintain high housekeeping standards.
Candidate requirements
We welcome applications from people who have:
* NVQ Level 3, or equivalent knowledge, in Instrument, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Experience in electrical and/or instrumentation maintenance within manufacturing, chemical, process, utilities or another industrial environment.
* Experience planning, coordinating or preparing maintenance work packs.
* Good understanding of safe systems of work, risk assessments and permit-to-work processes.
* Experience using SAP, CMMS or maintenance planning systems, or the willingness to develop this.
* Experience with DCS or plant systems such as MOD300 or DeltaV would be beneficial.
* The ability to support, coach and share knowledge with technicians.
* Strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills.
* A practical, collaborative and safety-focused approach.
* A commitment to safe working, inclusion, continuous improvement and values-led behaviours.
We know people gain skills in different ways. You do not need to meet every point above to apply. If this role interests you and you believe you could make a positive contribution, we would welcome your application.
