Underwriting & Claims Strategy Manager - Insurance / Reinsurance

We are working with a leading global reinsurer that is looking to invest heavily in its UK Protection business, with ambitious plans to expand market share, strengthen client partnerships, and further enhance its underwriting and claims proposition across the market.

What you will be doing:
- Drive commercially focused underwriting and claims strategies to improve profitability and support business growth across the UK protection market
- Build and strengthen relationships with key insurer clients, delivering tailored solutions that support long-term partnerships
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across sales, actuarial, and product teams to design and deliver competitive reinsurance solutions
- Support successful tenders, client retention, and strategic business development initiatives
- Use market intelligence, research, and data-led insights to identify opportunities, optimise risk selection, and enhance claims management
- Improve operational performance through strategic process enhancements and commercially driven decision-making
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring strong delivery and long-term capability building
What you will need:
- Strong commercial understanding of the Life and Health insurance and reinsurance market
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders internally and externally
- Highly analytical with the confidence to manage complexity and translate insight into strategic action
- Strong stakeholder management skills with excellent client-facing credibility
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively at a senior level
- Experience across product development, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration
- A strong track record of developing, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams
