How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Quantity Surveyor
    Salary: £85k

    Our client is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional with a strong background in heritage and commercial projects to take ownership of multiple schemes and contribute to our continued success.

    About the Role

    As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring cost control, profitability, and compliance across a diverse portfolio. You will work closely with Contract Managers and play a key role in financial reporting and project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring effective cost control and commercial performance

    * Prepare and present Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs/CBRs)

    * Work closely with Contract Managers, providing accurate reporting and commercial insight

    * Oversee tender processes, including pricing and evaluation of tender-led projects

    * Manage contracts including Measured Term Contracts (MTC) and day works

    * Ensure projects are delivered within budget, from small works to multi-million-pound schemes

    Requirements

    * Professional certification such as RICS or CIOB (or working towards)

    * Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

    * Strong background in cost control and commercial management

    * 10–15 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role

    * Proven experience managing a range of project values (£500k – £5M)

    * Experience working on commercial and/or heritage projects

    * Strong knowledge and understanding of listed buildings

    * Exposure to a variety of contract types including MTC and tender-led projects
