How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Turner

    Hitchin

    Salary Up to £45k DOE

    Our Client based in the Hitchin area are looking to recruit a CNC Turner Setter Operator

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    Experienced Setting and Operating CNC sliding Head machines - (Fanuc preferable)
    CNC Turner / CNC Turning experience on Lathes
    The ability to read and create programs for production
    An ability of working to a high standard
    A passion to work in a busy and fast paced environment
    Attention to detail and always looking to improve the process
    Excellent general measuring skills
    A good understanding of engineering drawings
    Enthusiastic and Fast Learning

    You will be working with the world's largest Plastics machining business based at our Clients Hitchin plant,

    They encourage a progressive and supportive environment and are keen to find a person who is a free thinker but also able to apply themselves to team activity.

    Our Client offers a busy and clean working environment using the very latest machine tools and measuring instruments. They are a business that embraces continuous improvement and encourage initiative and creativity within all their team. Your duties will include setting CNC sliding head machines for production, CNC Lathes making in-process adjustments, maintaining quality control of the parts you are producing, and liaising with the machine Cell Support and QC teams.

    Salary is depending upon experience, which includes a shift premium of 20%.

    Benefits include 24 days paid holiday plus bank holidays, a profit sharing scheme, sick pay scheme and the possibility of advancement.

    Moving to rotating shift.

    Working Hours - rotating shift

    Week 1 - Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.00pm

    Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 1.30pm to 10.00pm

    Friday 1.30pm to 6.40pm
