How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Looking for a facilities role with real variety?
If you enjoy the challenge of keeping a busy manufacturing site running day-to-day, but also want the opportunity to improve it for the future, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
You'll spend around half your time dealing with the day-to-day management of the site's facilities—everything from organising repairs to plumbing, drainage, roofing, utilities and building fabric—while the other half will focus on planning and delivering longer-term improvements, developing a rolling 0-3 year facilities plan and managing projects that support future business growth.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing UK manufacturer, part of a global engineering group supplying specialist equipment to the British Armed Forces.
    What's on Offer
    Salary up to £55,000
    Monday to Thursday: 7.00am - 3.30pm
    Friday: 7.00am - 12.00pm
25 days holiday, rising to 28 with service, plus Bank Holidays
    7% employer pension contribution
    Company sick pay
    Life Assurance (4x salary)
    Cycle to Work Scheme
    Free on-site parking
    Wellbeing programme
Excellent long-term career opportunities within a global organisation
    The Role
This is a genuinely varied position where no two days are the same.
One day you could be organising colleagues to repair a leaking roof, resolving drainage issues, dealing with building services or managing utility outages. The next, you'll be planning capital improvements, reviewing future infrastructure requirements, preparing budgets or developing the site's three-year facilities strategy.
You'll become the person responsible for ensuring the site remains safe, compliant, efficient and ready to support future growth.
Typical ResponsibilitiesDay-to-Day Facilities Management (Approximately 50%)
    * Respond to day-to-day building and facilities issues including plumbing, drainage, roofing, utilities and general building maintenance.
    * Manage contractors carrying out reactive and planned works.
    * Oversee site services, utilities and infrastructure.
    * Ensure statutory inspections and compliance activities are completed.
    * Manage Permit to Work, RAMS and contractor safety.
    * Support production by resolving facilities issues quickly to minimise downtime.
    * Carry out regular site inspections and identify improvement opportunities.
Facilities Planning & Projects (Approximately 50%)
    * Develop and maintain a rolling 0-3 year facilities improvement plan.
    * Deliver facilities CapEx projects from concept through completion.
    * Prepare budgets, quotations and business cases.
    * Improve maintenance planning and CMMS systems.
    * Drive energy, sustainability and cost-saving initiatives.
    * Plan future infrastructure upgrades to support business growth.
    * Report project progress and facilities performance to senior management.
    About You
You'll probably already be working as a:
    Facilities Engineer
    Facilities Manager
    Site Services Engineer
    Building Services Engineer
    Engineering Facilities Supervisor
Maintenance Manager with responsibility for facilities
You'll enjoy solving practical problems, working with contractors and keeping a manufacturing site running efficiently, while also taking satisfaction from planning improvements that make a lasting difference.
    You'll ideally have:
    * Experience managing facilities within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
    * HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
    * Knowledge of contractor management, PUWER, LOTO and statutory compliance.
    * Experience delivering facilities improvement or CapEx projects.
    * Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH (or equivalent).
    * Experience using CMMS or planned maintenance systems.
    Nice to Have
    * Multi-skilled engineering or maintenance background.
    * Building services or utilities experience.
    * Project Management qualification (Prince2 or PMP).
    * Lean or Continuous Improvement experience.
    * Knowledge of BMS, CAD or energy management systems.
    Why Apply?
This isn't a desk-based facilities planning role, nor is it purely reactive maintenance.
It's a genuinely balanced position where you'll spend your time keeping the site running today whilst helping shape how it operates tomorrow—making it ideal for someone who enjoys both practical problem-solving and long-term planning.
