Solidworks Design Engineer

Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

I’m currently working with a growing, forward-thinking UK manufacturer who are looking to bring in a SolidWorks Design Engineer to join their team.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be designing and developing components for commercial vehicle conversions—working closely with manufacturing and installation teams to turn ideas into real, buildable solutions.

🛠️ What you’ll be doing:
➡ Designing components and assemblies using SolidWorks
➡ Producing detailed CAD drawings and technical documentation
➡ Collaborating with production to ensure designs are practical and compliant
➡ Supporting bespoke builds and product development
➡ Improving existing designs for performance and manufacturability

👀 What they’re looking for:
✔ SolidWorks experience in a design engineering role
✔ Mechanical design background (automotive / commercial vehicles / heavy engineering ideal)
✔ Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
✔ A practical, solutions-focused mindset

💡 Bonus points if you have:
– Experience with HGV or vehicle conversions
– Knowledge of compliance / type approval
– Exposure to hydraulics or chassis modifications
