How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Manager – New Build School & Car Park

    Location: Leicestershire

    Duration: 45 Weeks

    Start Date: July 2026

    Rate: (Negotiable DOE)

    Project Value: £4.5m

    The Client

    A leading regional contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality education and commercial projects is currently finalising a £4.5m New Build School & Car Park scheme. We have been tasked with identifying a dedicated Site Manager to lead this project from the ground up.

    With the contract award expected next week, this is a perfect opportunity to secure a long-term freelance role starting this summer.

    The Project

    This is a JCT D&B scheme involving:

    *

    Education Build: Full delivery of a new school facility.

    *

    Civils: Construction of a new-build car park and associated external works.

    *

    Timeline: 45-week programme commencing July 2026.

    The Role

    As the Site Manager, you will be the "Number 1" on-site, reporting to a visiting Project Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

    *

    Full site leadership from Start of Site through to handover.

    *

    Managing all subcontractors and ensuring the 45 week programme stays on track.

    *

    Driving Health & Safety, with a specific focus on school-sector compliance.

    *

    Working closely with the design team to manage the D&B process.

    The Candidate Requirement

    *

    Education Experience: You must have a proven track record of delivering school or college projects as a Number 1.

    *

    Skills: Strong knowledge of JCT Design & Build contracts and experience managing both building and civils/car park packages.

    *

    Tickets: SMSTS, CSCS (Gold or Black), and First Aid are essential.
