How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading FMCG food Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Head of Distribution / Distribution Site Manager to lead an expanding SME Food Manufacturing Warehouse and Distribution facility. This role will be hands on and strategic, need proven experience in hands on Stock management / Stock control as well as outstanding leadership skills.

    Former experience in a small to medium Food Manufacturer / Food 3PL will be essential.

    Reporting into the Owner, this Head of Distribution / Distribution Site Manager will manage the distribution operations comprising warehouse and logistics of for wholesale, and the assembly and dispatch of retail across multiple selling platforms. Stock numbers and control.

    Head of Distribution / Distribution Site Manager responsibilities include:

    * Ensure that the site meets the site financial requirements in relation to budget and forecast. (to reflect volume changes)

    * Lead the Distribution site to deliver the required service levels to delight our customers

    * Manage site Distribution resources and budgets to enable growth whilst optimizing efficiencies

    * Drive improvements to key KPIs by embedding a continuous improvement culture within the depot

    * Collaborate with Sales colleagues to drive regional profitable growth

    * Collaborate with other Operational Leaders to share and learn from best practices, implement new technologies and ways of working

    * Build accountable, high performing, and engaged teams.

    * Cultivate an environment of health and safety, connection, diversity, and inclusion

    * Embrace a growth mindset

    * Demonstrate resilience, credibility, and composure under pressure

    * IT – to ensure that the systems are working in a manner that allows site staff to complete their jobs with open opportunity to improve functionality to benefit the business.

    * Oversee a daily meeting at an operational level as and when required to ensure customers demand fulfilment.

    * identify, evaluate and implement cost saving initiatives or changes in the operation for business benefit.

    * Maintaining British Retail Consortium BRC AA

    * Responsible for stock management and accuracy of inventory levels.

    * Effectively manage a varied team against the agreed annual plan by formulation of granular weekly plans.

    * Achieve and maintain elevated levels of customer service; responsible for performance to KPIs including deliver on time in full, distribution cost per tonne, stock accuracy and NCRs.

    * Ensure efficient use of warehouse space to keep stock at optimum levels, and utilisation of 3PL warehouse during peak periods managed through effective supplier relationships.

    * Ensure compliance to all Health, Safety, Hygiene and Environmental policies and audits.

    * Build positive relationships internally cross department, and externally with carriers, hauliers and other logistics service providers.

    * Deliver continuous improvement to ensure optimisation of performance, cost reduction, service delivery improvements through best practice and standard operating procedures.

    * Investigate non-conformance reports and implement necessary corrective actions to increase organisation efficiency and underpin customer service

    You will be a Head of Distribution / Distribution Site Manager used to working within a Food Manufacturing / Food 3PL environment and have strong people management as well as excellent stock management. You will be numerically proficient, with strong IT skills (particularly Excel).
