How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Electronics Engineer / Technical Lead

    A highly respected specialist PCB design and semiconductor test company, with many years of success and continued growth, is seeking a gifted electronics engineer to join the business. This is a pivotal technical leadership role, reporting to the Technical Director. You will lead a small team of engineers while taking ownership of the development and expansion of the company’s test capabilities.

    For the right individual, this role offers real potential to become Technical Director within the next few years.

    The Role

    You will play a central role in both hands-on engineering and technical leadership, including:

    * Leading and developing a small, highly skilled test team

    * Managing day-to-day test engineering operations

    * Designing and delivering end-to-end engineering solutions, from concept through to execution

    * Developing advanced electronic test solutions, including:

    * Custom power supplies for latch-up testing

    * Test fixtures and hardware interfaces

    * Automated test programs (ATE)

    * Working on complex semiconductor test challenges (ESD, latch-up, TLP, device characterisation)

    * Interpreting complex semiconductor datasheets, pin configurations, and test requirements

    * Acting as a key technical interface with customers and suppliers

    * Supporting the company’s reputation for technical excellence and rapid turnaround

    * Contributing to strategic decisions, including investment in new test equipment and technology

    Candidate Requirements

    * Degree (1st or 2:1 preferred) in Electronics or a closely related discipline

    * Strong, fundamental understanding of electronic principles

    * Significant hands-on experience in:

    * PCB design

    * Power supply design

    * Electronics testing and interfacing

    * Experience or exposure to technical leadership or team management

    * Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams

    * A practical, hands-on approach with strong bench-level capability

    * Experience (or strong interest) in semiconductor testing, including:

    * ESD, latch-up (LU), TLP, or similar methodologies

    * Ability to interpret detailed datasheets and complex technical information

    Personal Attributes

    * Passionate about electronics—someone who genuinely lives and breathes engineering

    * Naturally curious, with a desire to solve complex technical challenges

    * Comfortable working independently and across multiple disciplines

    * Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving and multitasking ability

    * Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on building long-term relationships

    * Ambitious and motivated to progress into a senior leadership role
