How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Design Engineer - Manchester / Hybrid - £35,000 to £50,000 + package

Take your career to the next level with a globally recognised engineering and energy services business delivering major decarbonisation, infrastructure and technical building services projects across the UK. This opportunity sits within a growing specialist consultancy team supporting bids, tenders, design development and EPC delivery across a varied project portfolio.

Do you have 2+ years' experience in electrical building services or infrastructure design?
Are you confident using Revit within live design environments?
Have you worked on projects from concept through to detailed design stages?
Would a flexible, largely remote role with genuine progression appeal to you?

    What you NEED

2+ years' experience within Electrical Design Engineering (building services, M&E consultancy, energy, infrastructure or similar)
Working knowledge of electrical design principles across LV systems
Experience producing coordinated designs using Revit (essential)
Exposure to design stages such as RIBA 2 to RIBA 4 / concept through technical design
Ability to produce drawings, schematics, layouts and technical documentation
Good communication skills and confidence working within a multi-disciplinary team
Based within reach of Manchester for occasional office meetings

    What you'll get in return

£35,000 to £50,000 depending on experience
Hybrid / largely remote working model
Manchester office base (South Manchester area)
Strong job security within a major international group
Exposure to renewable energy, infrastructure and decarbonisation schemes
Clear progression within a growing technical team
    Professional training and development support
Benefits package including pension, holidays and wider corporate perks

    Nice to Haves

Experience in commercial solar / PV projects
    HV design exposure
Building services systems knowledge including fire, security or BMS
Healthcare, defence or public sector project exposure
AutoCAD or wider BIM software experience
Knowledge of BS7671 / relevant UK standards

    Role & Responsibilities

Support electrical designs from concept stage through to detailed design (RIBA 2 to RIBA 4)
Assist with pre-construction tenders, bids and technical proposals
Produce drawings, models and coordinated layouts using Revit
Support projects involving boiler replacement programmes, solar PV and electrical upgrades
Contribute to LV / HV design packages where appropriate
Work closely with mechanical, commercial and delivery teams through EPC phases
Attend surveys, client meetings and occasional office collaboration sessions
Help ensure designs meet technical, regulatory and commercial requirements

    Company Profile

This is an opportunity to join a respected engineering services organisation operating across energy, infrastructure and critical environments. Their UK business delivers projects that improve efficiency, modernise estates and support the transition to net zero. The hiring team is small, highly capable and expanding, giving the successful person real visibility and progression rather than being lost in a large corporate structure.
