Charles Harper House is a small supported housing service providing 1:1 support to adults with learning disabilities and sensory impairments, including people who are Deaf and use British Sign Language (BSL).
We’re looking for caring and flexible Care Support Workers who are confident providing one‑to‑one support. The role focuses on supporting daily routines, personal care where needed, and meaningful activities, while promoting independence, choice and confidence. A key part of the role is communicating effectively with Deaf customers, including using signed BSL where appropriate. You’ll also help maintain safe, welcoming homes, build positive working relationships and complete accurate records.
This is a part‑time role (22.5 hours per week), working across a 24/7 rota, including day, evening, weekend, bank holiday and occasional sleep‑in shifts. Flexibility is essential.
Level 2 BSL is ideal, but we also welcome applicants with practical BSL experience or Deaf awareness and a willingness to continue developing their skills (Level 1 BSL training planned). Previous care experience is helpful but not essential, as training is provided. A satisfactory DBS check is required.
To apply, please submit an anonymised CV and short supporting statement. Interviews will take place on Wednesday 27 May 2026
