How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Junior Data Engineer, Data Operations
    £40,000 to £45,000 Basic + 10% Bonus + Benefits
London HQ | Remote across the UK fine though

We’re working with a growing, international SaaS organisation that is expanding its Data Operations capability and looking to hire a Junior Data Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their data engineering career to gain hands-on experience in a modern, cloud-first environment. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining reliable data pipelines that support reporting, analytics and operational decision-making across the business.

Working alongside experienced Data Engineers and a collaborative data team, you’ll help develop scalable data processes, improve data quality, and contribute to well-governed datasets used by teams across the organisation. You’ll also gain exposure to enterprise-level data platforms and best practices.

The role will involve developing and maintaining data pipelines, transforming data using Python, SQL and PySpark, integrating data from various internal and external sources, and supporting day-to-day data operations. You’ll also contribute to data quality initiatives, documentation, and continuous improvements to platform reliability.

We’re looking for candidates with 1 to 3 years’ experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or a similar field. You’ll have solid Python and SQL skills, experience working with data pipelines, and an understanding of cloud-based storage such as Amazon S3. Experience with tools like Databricks, Delta Lake, or BI platforms such as Power BI or Tableau would be advantageous.

This organisation operates globally and is continuing to invest heavily in its data capabilities, making it an exciting time to join. The culture is collaborative, supportive and focused on continuous improvement, with a strong emphasis on delivering real business impact.

    What’s on offer:

    £40,000 to £45,000 basic salary

    10% annual bonus

Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, pension, life assurance and more

25 days holiday plus your birthday off

Flexible working with remote options across the UK

London HQ for those who enjoy office collaboration

If you’re looking to develop your data engineering skills in a high-growth SaaS environment, we’d be keen to hear from you.
